Could you guys suggest some books that wouldn;t be too difficult to read.
I have books by JS lefanu, MR James and Henry james. And I tend to struggle comcentrating on them. Maybe its their older English that I am struggling with.
Can you guys suggest any books that a pretty decent and easy enough to read.
Thanks

**Copied from your introduction thread**
Can I recommend that you give James Herbert's 'The Rats' or 'The Fog' a go? Richard Laymon's 'One Rainy Night' is also a popular introduction into some fast paced horror action. Of course, you could always jump straight in with some Jack Ketchum ('The Girl Next Door' is a nasty little read).
There's just so much out there...

One of the great disasters of our time -- I lost the bottom shelf of hardcovers in a bookcase in a plumbing flood a few years back... all of them 1st Hardcover editions of Herbert.
The Fog, The Spear, The Survivor, The Dark, The Jonah, The Magic Cottage, Shrine and Haunted were all lost in a soggy pulp.

Yep... have since managed to pick up a great 1st ed of "The Dark" in Hay on Wye, but that's the only one that's been replaced so far. Now that I'm over here in Canada I doubt I'll ever get them now.

Haven't been yet but I've heard there's now a good selection of shops.

Indeed...we stoped off in one of the pubs last summer for a pint and food. A nice selection of guest ales and top darts with the food too! Wigtown eh? I'd never heard of it until you posted that up (ignorance is far from bliss). Jennifer's father lives in Perth (Scotland not Aussieland). So we shoot up to Scotland ever now and again to visit. Will have to take Jennifer on a slight detour via Wigtown next time we go up me thinks! Cheers for the pointer there Willie! www.wigtown-booktown.co.uk/
