Started reading this on the train into work this morning. There's a wee introduction by Neil Jackson (GWP dude) who gives a nice little bit of praise to our very own William Meikle. Put a smile on my face.
Oh, and the first tale was a beauty. I'll be posting up a review of the whole collection in due course...

Does anyone know Why Simon broke from GWP?

Does anyone know Why Simon broke from GWP? I dunno man. His comments regarding the actual reasons behind breaking from GWP on his blog are quite vague. I really like the idea of GWP pulling themselves together and doing well. They have some amazing releases planned. But obviously, it all comes down to whether those books will ever actually materialise. It'll be a shame if it all falls through. It certainly looks (from the outside at least) that the authors involved with GWP aren't being treated all that well. I'd be interested to find out the actual reasons for Simon's departure from them. It was obviously a very hard decision for him to make. Anyway...only time will tell...

Be interesting to know if they've received any royalties either, as if I remember right when I had a story accepted for this antho before withdrawing, royalties were paid monthly (or statements were issued - can't remember exactly without digging it out)

All I'll say on the matter is that I got an email off Simon that opened with "It appears you were right about GWP and Neil Jackson."
And good to see that the handful of copies printed have gone out to those on the forums known by the authors... keeps the pretence going nicely.

So has anyone else received a copy? I know at least one person put in pre-orders for some GWP books, but when the books never appeared, they requested their money back, but the publisher failed to respond.

Surely the authors have received their contributors copies by now... Anyone know how many copies were printed or were planned to be printed?

Anyone know how many copies were printed or were planned to be printed? I guess the only person who would know that would be the publisher.

I know that Simon only got 1 contributor copy instead of the contracted 6 (probably because the print run didn't run to that many).

GWP are still taking orders...but if we're honest that doesn't mean much. I wonder if everyone who ordered the book has been sent their copy yet?

I can only comment on the evidence that has been shared with me and with that in mind I would guess NO.
I would suspect that regulars on the forums like GNS will have got one as that gets feedback in the right venues. Keeps us all thinking things are legit and on the level.
But when you hear that contributor copies are being withheld it raises concerns on numbers actually printed.

Garry, I know that you have had experience with book printers so what would be the minimum print run?
