How do you feel about the collector markets. Is it fair play for authors to only release stories as expensive ultra limited editions, or should everyone get a chance to read it?

Are there any authors out there you would love to collaborate with?

You don't have to answer this one if you don't want to.
Have you ever based a character who die a horrible death, or who is just a total jerk, on someone you really didn't like? if so did they ever figure it out?

Have you ever thought of trying to get your work published in the States? there's an indie press in the states called Permuted Press, and i would willingly stab people to be published by them. That has become one of my top professional goals (the being published, not the stabbing). in general, i would love to be published in the US - hell, i'd love to be published anywhere. There's plenty o Rakie to go around. ;D

How, much research do you do. Are you of the Jonathon Mayburry school with reams upon reams of research. Or the Brian Keene school where he reckons if a reader can believe the dead have risen, they don't require an explanation about how his legs can move. the most research i tend to do is fact checking on wikipedia. I like doing research, it's a top way of getting inspiration for stories, but often i just wanna get out and start writing the darned thing. With specific items (like locations or guns or vampire lore or grammatic structures) i tend to use the phone-a-friend method - call someone up and demand their in depth knowledge. That way i can also blame them if i balls up some technical detail. ;D

What do you think needs to change before horror fiction is as popular as it was was before the late 90's?

Being a horror author, do your family and friends ever wonder about you? What has their reaction been after reading your work?

How do you feel about the collector markets. Is it fair play for authors to only release stories as expensive ultra limited editions, or should everyone get a chance to read it? i think they can coexist quite happily - people buy a bog-standard issue to read, and if they're really serious they can fork out for a collectors edition. So long as they're both released at the same sort of time and no one's being forced to buy one edition or the other, i'd say it's a fine situation.

Are there any authors out there you would love to collaborate with? anyone and everyone! i'd love to work with David Wellington, but that's just a fangirl dream and anyway the restraining order's probably still in force... i've never collaborated with anyone before so i've no idea how it'd work out. I might be horrible at it. ;D

Have you ever based a character who die a horrible death, or who is just a total jerk, on someone you really didn't like? if so did they ever figure it out? it's been pointed out to me that i don't like doctors and tend to treat them badly in my stories... ;D i treated my poor long suffering partner very badly in Terror Island - he was a zombie wearing a number 23 t-shirt who basically got horribly abused for the whole book. I'm still apologising for that one.
