I've recently read three Masterton novels: Devils of D-Day, Prey, and The Heirloom.
All good reads.
Until the end.
He seems to get carried away, and dare I say it, silly. If he toned it down a bit he'd have some killer books, as it is they lose a few points for me.
I recall reading The Djinn back in the day and really enjoying it. I have it here, just not gotten around to it yet.
I'd say he's worth reading (Devils of D-Day is very good until the final few pages).

Well I've read quite a few of his novels, and that's my favourite, so I'd recommend giving it another go.

Cheers Shaun, i will take it under advisement lol.
I'm a real big fan of WW2 stuff that has the added supernatural element, like Jame Herberts The Spear or Raiders of the Lost Ark. so you can see why The Devils of D-Day is appealing to me lol. But I'm also a fan of Japanese types of deomans as well so Tengu should appeal to me.
What about Mirror or Charnel House? they're also in the omnibus I'm reading.

Given your liking of demons etc. I think you'll really love Devils of D-Day to be honest.

And you may have seen the film 'The Manitou' based on the book of the same name, but the book's better.

Ritual is one of his best, and one of the most disturbing books I've ever read. Give it a go.
Also, check out The Doorkeepers. Stunning.

Cool, i know we have another omnibus in the house but I cant remember whats in it... i think its Night Plague and The Hymn. But I'm fairly enjoying some of GM's stuff so I'll probably look out for more books.
I'm spacing my GNS reading out a bit, usually i have a habit of just powering through books one after the other but i want to take my time with these ones.

Yeah, take your time with GNS books, I mean, he's only written a couple and you don't want to run out!

I've never read any... Brian LumleyShoud I? I'm not into all that gothic vampire malarky. Poppy Z Brite and Anne Rice can go jump as far as I'm concerned. Am I missing out on anything by having missed Lumley? If I am...recommend me a good starting book. Demogorgon, Fruiting Bodies and Other Fungi, the Dreamland series, House of Doors, and the Lovecraftian stories I've read of his were all good.
