Hello all,
Just introducing myself via Ian's advice. Obviously new here, was referred by a friend. I do not read much horror per se..but have read a few.
I am an avid fan of horror movies and have even attempted to write one. Nothing ground breaking but fun none the less.
My usual style is more of parody and dark humor. I hope to be brave enough to try and write to one of the threads and see how my hand fares at this genre. Would be nice if i was able to learn a few things about the process of a genre I enjoy.
Suzanne

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
Has anyone else noticed how all the people that have recently joined via Ian's advertising have been female?
I’m beginning to question Ian's motives behind this forum...

Hello Suzanne!
Glad you made it. Sorry we didn't have a Marvin the Martian avatar for you.
Tell them a bit more about the horror movie you wrote.

Hi, thanks for the welcome
Lets see, I have actually read Clockwork Orange if that counts for anything. Enjoyed it.
Marvin the Martian would be nice...but I will live.
As for the movie it is something I wrote that is most definitely B in genre. It is a zombie movie, they intrigue me. I have seen few of them that I actually believe or have not said outloud, why dont you get in your car and leave or hang out in the attic...you know what I mean.
Ergo I wrote a movie in which people cannot get in a car, go in an attic, and actually have to deal with the zombies on hand. The do not move slow and dully like those in the movies, more like the ones in 28 Days later. It takes place in a claustraphobic environment which adds an element of creep or discomfort..
That is it in a nutshell, dont want to go on and on and bore people..
Thanks
Suzanne

This thread reminded me of a movie - Shatterdead.
This film gets criticized a lot, because it's not a B movie, more a grade Z. Cheap, shot on video, poor acting etc.
However, it's a really interesting Zombie film. In it Zombies are trying to live like normal people, but they're having trouble. For instance, if they stay still for too long, rigor mortis sets in. They can't sit down for long periods, because the blood pools in their ass etc. It's played straight too.
Fascinating film. Worth checking out for fans of the genre - although it has many faults.
