Besides the love of horror books, has anyone else collected anything else?
In normal kid mode, I used to collect and build up airfix tanks, many a sunny afternoon were spent attaching bits of plastic to other bits of plastic with polystyrene cement!
In weird mode, for a time I used to collect animal bones. I'd find a road kill or some dead bird a cat had killed, drag it home, hide it behind my dads garden shed and let the maggots do what comes natural to them before bleaching the bones white and keeping them in my drawer in my bedroom.
One wonders what I would do or think if my own son picked up a similar hobby.

Well, I have an obsessive collection of Clive Barker stuff. I've spent a fortune on the good man over the years. Same goes for horror films (1000's of Laserdiscs & DVD's). I also collect metal (I've got a good couple of thousand albums). Apart from that, I'm quite involved in the Body Modification scene (I tattoo & pierce people, as well as putting on extreme shows and taking part in ritual events). I go to a lot of gigs too. But my single biggest hobby is reading and writing reviews. Oh...and as a kid I did the same sort of stuff. Horror books, films and metaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal. You see...I'm still the same kid, just in a thirty year old's body!!!

i used to collect spiders and insects when i was younger Ditto...that brought back memories. I used to have a converted fish tank in my bedroom that I kept all sorts of insects in. I used to spends hours searching the garden for weird and wonderful bugs and the biggest spiders I could find. That brings me to another point. What happened to all the earwigs? When I was a nipper you couldn't move for earwigs. Now you never see the pinchy little bastards anywhere!

There were quite a few earwigs in the top of our tent when we went camping last week near, Scarborough. So that's where they all are.

I used to live in a house in Birmingham that had woodlouse, slugs and devils coach horses! You'd walk into the kitchen in the morning and there'd be slug trails, as though the cunning little blighters were trying to write messages with their slime.

Shaun's kitchen floor at night: Oh, it was worse than that. As for collections, aside from books, I collect those fancy bubble bath containers that are shaped like daleks and Scooby Doo etc. I also used to collect knives.
