I finished reading Stephen Kings The Dark Tower series and i ust say, what a read! however a few questions that have been bothering me recently that i would like to open too debate.
if you havent read the dark tower series and plan too, look away now!
***SPOILER***
at the end of the series, Roland finds himself inside the tower at last. As he climbs the tower he notices that the floors of the tower are littered with items from his past and, reaching the top, finds a door that transports him back to the start of his quest, the last line being:
'the man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.'
from my understanding, Roland is trapped in somekind of karmic loop which will keep repeating itself until he learns that the tower is not the only thing in existance thats important, that people are not just tools to be expanded on his quest, to which we see that he has the horn of Eld and it seems that it is possible.
now what i thought about this is that how can the tower not be the most impostant thing if it is the center of all the other universes, and should he stop his quest for the tower then the crimson king would eventually destroy it and the universes it holds together.
so how does Roland reclaim his lost humanity??

I think what it was trying to imply was that he shouldn't have been so willing to sacrifice his friends for the quest. He needs to learn about love again.
