i just realised today that i started posting anything without acctually introducing myself, so i thought i'd give you all a little info about me.
Well my names Ian and im 25 from glasgow. i love horror!!! anything horror related to me is like the bible to christians lol. my work, as some of you may have read, focuses mostly on obscure horror. i feel that the horror industry as of late is a HUGE let down as splatter horror is good for about 5 mins before i get bored. not to say that there arent good splatter horror films, just that no one seems to focus on psychological or obscure horror which i think is much better.
if you read any of my stuff please give critiscism. all critiscism, go or bad, is openly welcomed as i would love to know what i should keep doing and what i could do better.
thanks all
Ian

Hi Ian.
Obscure horror in my opinion does not often mean it's going to be good. Far from it. Often, things are obscure for a reason.
However, I too am a horror geek and hunt out the weirdest and most obscure horror titles that I can get my grubby mitts on. It's obsessive but rewarding.
Anyway, I'll certainly give your stuff a read and give my honest opinions on it. I'm no literary master, so won't really be able to give you that much advice (but others on here will be able to), but I can certianly offer up my opinions as a avid reader on any writing you post up.
I actually read a hell of a lot and am quite productive on the reviewing front. I may waffle on for a bit when reviewing something, but 'I think' I actually know what I'm talking about.
Anyway....welcome again and I look forward to reading some of your stuff.

Well my names Ian and im 25 from glasgow. i love horror!!! Ian Welcome Ian. I'm from Kilbirnie originally, lived in Glasgow in the late '70's, early '80s ... but left for London before you were born Most of my writing is set in Scotland (and a fair bit of it in Glasgow), so I hope you'll seek me out and give it a try Willie

Dreadlock, i wholly agree with you there on obscure not meaning its good, sometimes you get authors trying to be too clever with their writing and that just bugs the hell out of me. glad for your reply!!! :-D
willie, damn straight im lookin forward to redin your stuff. mine too is set in and around the glasgow area, i went out my way to write about a town that dpesnt exist in north lanarkshire lol. i like towns you read about in stories and think 'i never wanna go there... EVER!!!' lol again thanks for the reply. i've got 2 stories up so far so have a wee gander if you want.
cheers!

I got into a wee bit of trouble with my family for my book Eldren: The Book of the Dark. Although I changed the name of the town, they all know it was really Kilbirnie, and they recognized themselves, and some of their neighbours in some of the characters. They didn't like getting vampirized

I've had nine novels and over 100 short stories published... mostly in the States Check out the link under here... details are all there, and you'll find a "Free Fiction" link down on the right hand side with free online stories and podcasts. Or just search Amazon for "William Meikle" and you'll find me. Willie

Check out these for markets: www.ralan.com (mainly horror markets, kept well up to date and its the one I use most.) www.duotrope.com (loads of markets of all genres) There's a good market guide for download here horror.fictionfactor.com/horrormarketguide.html(Not sure how up to date it is though) also, a good site for writers starting out, with tens of thousands of writers on the forums www.absolutewrite.com
