What's your favourite length for reading? Are you a huge series fan (e.g. Lumley's Necroscope series), or do you like to take it in small doses of a single short story at a time?

Oh God! just hard hard is the to answer?
I loved all of the Necroscope books yet I also like to read lengthy volumes PLUS short novels of 80,000 words or so.
bugger. I don't know what to vote here.

it depends on the quality writing, some books I wish were longer when its been a great read, or hoped it was part of a series, whereas there has been many a novel, where I wished it was a limerick, just so I could finish it quicker

Although rrely buy a novel if it has small print, being dyslexic I hate them, I would rather pay novel for a longer page count

A good short story is priceless....but a good novel will keep you hooked for much longer! So, all other things being equal, a longer read has to be better value for money (short story anthologies where all the stories are compulsive reading are great, but unfortunately very rare).

Love long reads. I tend to read quite fast so I prefer longer reads, and also love series, when there are great characters and stories I don't want them to end.

Novels. If they're 160 to 200 pages they're perfect.
But if they're longer that's okay.

I enjoy most forms but novellas take the prize.
A good novella will leave you wanting more, it's pace is good and usually to the point. A doorstop novel would have to really catch my eye to invest my time.
