Banned by the BBFC, so the usual arguments are raging. Free speech under attack...blah, blah, blah, one step to a dictatorship, thought police, Orwell, blah, blah, blah... Twisted deviants...blah, blah, blah...who in their right mind would watch this etc... The big question is: will YOU try to watch it now? And if so, is it because you saw the first one and are looking forward to the follow up? Or, like me, you'd never heard of the films and now want to see what all the fuss is about? 'Tom Logan, professor of right and wrong at Reading University, said: "There will be some who say that banning The Human Centipede 2 is the thin end of the wedge and that before long we will be living in a dictatorship. But they are probably having a lot of problems in their personal life and are just looking for an argument. "Then there will be those who say that while they would never watch films like The Human Centipede and find the idea of it disgusting, the principle of free speech is at stake. Meaning of course they have watched it, probably while wearing a romper suit that they urinate into."' www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-%26-entertainment/film-censor-'excluding-monstrous-perverts-from-mainstream-society'-201106083924/

Considering those who want to watch it will download it illegally, the only harm done by this ideological dunderheadedness is that the distributors and the film industry ultimately suffer from losing any money they might otherwise have made on the back of this. I know the same thing happened with A Serbian Film, even though it was released. Cuts were made and money was lost because you could only see the uncut version by illegal means.
Myself, I liked the first one, I'd like to see the second.

Well, the first one is being sent to me via Blockbuster rental - I'll let you know how I get on with it...
Sick buckets ahoy!

Okay, I saw the first one this weekend. Not as vomit-inducing as I'd feared - guess it's the concept alone that's so terrifying.
But as a film it was ruined for me by the absolute stupidity of the coppers - and the lack of forward planning by the nutty surgeon.

I only got halfway through the first movie. It didn't make me sick, just bored the crap out of me.
