I love his early stuff (The Wyrm, Sceptre, Darkfall and Ghost Train in particular) but he always has something to entertain/amuse me.

Yep, love Laws. Darkfall is one of my all time favourite novels. Another writer who I believe was influenced by a certain Guy N Smith.

You know that scene in Darkfall, where they think they are walking down a ramp, but are actually going up. Sounds rubbish.?
There is a display in the Glasgow Science museum which does just that, really freaky
