By the Sword - F Paul Wilson how're you finding it? i won't hear a bad word said against F Paul Wilson, but i can't help thinking the Repairman Jack series is... dragging a little. It's gotta a bit heavy for me. that said, i love the way By The Sword ties in to his earlier novel, Black Wind. The man's a genious for that. *loves*

But if this one ties in with Black Wind (an absolute classic) I'm going to check it out.

I'm a huge RJ fan, and I'm still loving them. Did you ever read the revised issue of The Tomb? I'd like to know what the revisions/additions are. Still an all-time classic. Even my mum enjoyed it!

I struggled with the newer Repairman Jack books. But if this one ties in with Black Wind (an absolute classic) I'm going to check it out. i read them in the wrong order! i read By the Sword first, then belatedly picked up Black Wind and went, "hang on, some of this sounds kinda familiar..." ;D not checked out the revamped version of The Tomb... also not sure if i will. I liked the original with all its faults.

I'm re-reading 48. I'd forgotten just how fast paced the story was!

An old favorite - Children of the Night by John Blackburn.
A great example of pre-Herbert British horror, shot through with sly humour.

They Thirst by Robert McCammon, it's started off really good.
