My last board was for unsigned metal bands and I came up with the idea of hosting out board space for unsigned bands (Or stole the idea, I can't remember)
Anyway, the idea seemed like a sound one. The bands linked their sub board into their own site and they looked after the upkeep of their own space and did whatever they wanted with it. It did work, friends of one band checked out other bands linked into the board and visa versa.
Now I'm wondering if we could do the same on this one.
What do you think?

What would people put in their own little forum sections?
I dunno if this is such a good idea.

It's a bad idea. This is a site called "British Horror Novels" - so what's the connection between that and a forum for unsigned heavy metal bands? Since these forums use free software, why not simply set up another site on that topic?
All this achieves, from what I can see, is a mess of off-topic (to the core topic of the site) posts that mix in with the on-topic ones. As a casual viewer I'd have been discouraged to join to be honest.
How about we talk about novels here? There's an off-topic forum for those that want to talk about other things. All the metal thing has done is to bugger up the "99 new posts" link.
Just my 2 cents!
