the smithism cover looks like it was drawn by Mike Mignola, got a very Hellboy look about it.

Well there ya go. I deserve a smite for that. Nah man....I'm actaully throwing a bonus karma your way for your detailed analysis of what went wrong for you in 'Suffer the Children' (even though we clearly do not agree on it).

The man's bloody well right you know... Nice one Ben! Delicious irony - Les Edwards doing a GNS and 'selling an oldie' LOL

What do people make of the new GNS covers from GWP: Don't like the Crabs one but the others are all nice covers. Just not suited to GNS novels, IMHO. And that should be Smithisms, not singular

On the other hand I know these titles as older classics;, and that isn't reflected in these covers. I mean, you can modernize the cover, but what are you going to do about the insides? N.O.T.C. is the only one out of those that's a re-release. The others are all brand new releases squire. The 'Night of the Werewolf' cover is snazzy. Not strictly true - Night Of The Werewolf was previously published in 1976, but German language only

Limited Edition and Night of the Werewolf are good covers - I think the latter was done by Steve Crisp.
Smithism is a great piece, and was done by Ade Salmon, who did the cover to Creature Feature (or Paperback Fanatic Issue 5, - it's the same cover) .
NOTC - poor, not a patch on the original. You can see why NEL stuck with the same cover for all the reprints/reissues.

I think the latter was done by Steve Crisp. The man is such a legend when it comes to horror novel covers. You can spot his work from a mile off by the sheer quality of the pieces.

And The Hoodoo Man
Also, the cover for the 1985 Penguin reissue of Keith Roberts' The Furies - cracking piece.

Hey Ade! Did we not have this conversation on another board? Or did I dream it.

I think we did - might've been on the GNS board or on the Friendface chat thing.
Answer me this. Steve Harris is here as Dizzy, yes? But - our newest member is calling himself Steve Harris...and the DOB seems accurate.
Imposter or real thing - if the latter, is Dizzy an imposter?
