Maggots Blaze of Glory by Weston Oches island full of killer animals Fragment by Warren Fahy Top darts!!! Nice one Jim. I've added 'Blaze of Glory'. 'Fragment' is tricky because it's not one particular species that actually exists at the moment. More karma being piled on top of you. Thanks once again for your help.

The 'Hawg' is a fictional beast. Doesn't fall into the 'when animals attack' category....sorry!

;D Okay, a bit of a cheat really. But what the heck. "The Canadian forests are dying. A hideous, inexplicable blight is spreading down North America as far as New Mexico and the experts are baffled. Ace micro-agent Captain Mathew Dike is called in to solve the mystery along with his beautiful black fellow-agent, Johnathon Butt. The three mini-humans are used to taking monster ants, elephantine caterpillars, and B-52 sized crows in their three-millimeter stride. But what awaits them at the top of their own Everest - a skeletal pine tree in a spectral forest - is more than they bargained for..." No, I've not read it. But I do own it. A cute 156 pages this one - and second in a series. Not really what you're talking about, but snazzy.

Then again, I'm an old fart. I was already 15 and well on the horror path when Carrie came out. For me it really started with a combination of the Von Thal Pan Books of Horror and horror movies late night on the BBC. I too went on to Wheatley after that, then took a dive into heroic fantasy for a while before The Exorcist, then Stephen King came along. I used to swan around looking pale and interesting, listening to Hawkwind and pretending to be Elric of Melnibone. Luckily the '70s horror boom saved me from that doom

I've got them... in a box somewhere. There's over 1000 '70's and '80s paperbacks in boxes that I haven't looked at in years... best go and check on them sometime and make sure the mice haven't got to them

Sounds like an absolute corker! Although it doesn't really fit into the list (like you said). But a damn good addition to the thread all the same. I think I'm going to have myself a bit of a look to see if I can pick up a copy of this beauty...

I'll send it to you, mate. To be honest it's just not something I'm ever going to get too. I did offer it to someone else above, but they already had it.....
