The absolute master as far as I'm concerned.

One of my favourite authors. Favourite books by him of the top of my head as I like all of them, The Stake, Travelling Vampire Show, and of course, my copy of A Writer's Tale ;D

Am jealous of Shaun - I don't have A Writer's Tale. It's one of those rare things on my list. By the way I realise Laymon isn't British, so I'm sorry if I've gone off topic a bit on this board.

One Rainy Night and Endless Night for me.
I love Laymon's work. I think his short fiction is the best around. Laymon was the reason I started to write. His style is so straight forward, but fast paced because of it. And he's so damn nasty! I thought, yeah, I could do this...

I like a lot of Laymon's stuff, but he seemed to take a bit too much delight in having women beaten and raped for my liking.
The Travelling Vampire Show is probably my favorite

Want to read Vampire Show, maybe will buy after Triage...
Last one I bought was Night Show. A mistake as not one of his best.

A WRITER'S TALE is one of the best books on writing I've ever read. I realize the book's a rarity these days.
Favorite Laymon books are ENDLESS NIGHT, BEWARE!, NIGHT SHOW, THE CELLAR, THE WOODS ARE DARK, QUAKE, BITE! and FUNLAND.

Started with SAVAGE and never looked back, what a talent.
I can proudly boast that I was a member of the original fan club (based in Scotland!), still have the stapled A4 'issues' somewhere. One of my treasured books is a beat up paperback of The Cellar, inscribed by the man: Beast Wishes, Richard.
Endless Night was one of my favorites.
