I'm not very good at blogs so I'll keep this short and sweet... unless people are wanting to hear more about my exciting life lol.
so whats going on with me? well not much. I'm absolutely pratted just now, thats about it.
for those that haven't spoke to me i'm Ian (or walkin dude if you get confused with the other million Ian's on this place ha ha) I'm a massive horror geek like the rest of the lovely patrons and have posted 3 short stories in the story thread and one for the BHN short story contest thingy (though its rife with errors, a bit of a rush job but you get the point)
the 3 other stories i have posted are acctually for an anthology i'm working on called 'Personal Demons' which i hope to have completed by the end of the year, but im going to have to look for publishers and i'm not very good at things like that *sobs*
but i am ever the optimist and hopefully will get it published eventually!
um thats about it so far, if you like what yopu read then i'll post more... um!
Ian

Sat night i finished a new story for Personal Demaons, this ones called Endless Hunger. but my finace was harangin me about calling it Chomp! but i think i'll save that for another day lol.
At this point i'm having a bit of a lull in inspiration, i have 7 stories finished and i'm aiming for 12 at the least. so thats 5 more to go, the bass player in my band did tell me about nightmares his girlfriend used to have about monsters called Lurkies, so i might get into that.

You're a very productive man on the writing front. Keep it up... I'm somewhat intrigued by 'The Toad'. Will this be Tsathoggua inspired by any chance? I know you like your lovecraftian era writing. Also, have you read 'Croak' by Robin Evans? It's a classic!

acctually i hvent really fleshed out the details as of yet, i was considering the Tsathoggua idea but havent thought of anyway to fit it in yet. I've been aching to write a Lovecraftian tale for ages though so i might well put the toad god in there somewhere lol.
i havent read that book, i think there is a whole load of horror that seem to have missed, i'll need to keep my eyes peeled i think!!!

I sent 'Endless Hunger' to an Ezine on sunday called the Absent Willow Review with hopes of getting it published, thay have came back to me today saying that "They dont have a spot for it this time" but i should "not let this deter me from sending it elsewhere or sending future stories to them"
I'm not sure if thats code for "We hate you!" or what thay said is acctually what they meant, but I'am undeterred.
I started working on Lurkies last night, only got about a page into it but I have some promising ideas.

So what have i done since i last updated this blog?
Feck all!
I haven't worked on any writing since i started 'Lurkies' but i think I'm just taking a break since i finished 'Spit Shine' and 'Endless Hunger' within a week of each other. i have the general plot for 'Lurkies' in my head so its just a matter of getting it down on paper.
I had a bizarre dream last night featruing a creature idea that i have been toying with, it was pretty scary so i think I'll be writing a story with that in it next.
still need to finish 'The Fracture' and 'Teachers Pet' but hopefully they'll come along quite nicely when i finish 'Lurkies'
oh yeah, I hate my job ;D

Another week has passed and i still haven't done any more writing. i htink i might be having a creative block or something! how ever, all the parts are there but they just need to be written down. I had another idea while i was on the bus to work the other day, i hate it when that happens cos i cant do anything, being on a bus and all. My only option at that point is to keeop thinking about it until i get home and begin scribbling (or typing) so that at least i have the bones of the story. I'm hoping this lack of creatiity doesn't last too long, I don't want to be sitting with my thumb up my arse when there could be oppertunities slipping away!!!

Well back again, nothing much has happened recently. been off my work for 2 and a half months and then came back to find out we're all getting papped. redundancy city ladies and gents!!!! so in the time off i managed to finish 2 more shorts, one is called 'Book Worms' but the second one i havent managed to find a title for i also wrote about 7 chapters to a novel i had an idea for as well, so thats pretty good. plus i had ideas for several other stories/novels as well, sometimes i feel like my brain just goes into overdrive and inspiration hits me constantly. most of its been filed in my mental 'To Do' drawer where it'll wait and develope and so on. but right now i'm wanting to finish 'Mr Burlap' before i start anything else. all in all xmas was kinda unproductive but hopefully things will get back on track.

Nice to hear about you getting hitched - well done! Bad to hear you've become redundant - but look on the bright side, you hated the job, you've now got more time to spend with your lovely wife - and best of all, plenty of time to write! Still, hope you find work soon.

So i started workingon a new story. I've only written about 2 pages so far but the inspiration hit me in waves that i've never felt before. it started with me hearing a voice in my head the kept repeating the same thing over and over again.
"The Hanging Man"
now i was curious about the hanging man, who was he? where did he come from? but i could find no answers for a long time. then last week, while i was on the bus home, i saw it all. his history, everything! and it was all i could do to stop myself from jumping up and down scream "EUREEKA!" at the top of my lungs...
lol i can see that sounds quite dramatic, but its all true. So i came up with a pretty good idea for the story. Its called Grandfather Clock and the Hanging Man is the main antagonist. him and his slaves, 4 creatures called gaunts. i'm just trying to get all their information sorted in my head. there names are as follows:
The Faceless. The Hungry Mouth. The Black Hand. The Mumbler.
How they will be worked into the story i'm not sure at this moment but i have several ideas which i'm trying to work out in my head. it'll take time but it'll be well worth it!!!
