Amazingly, I bought FOUR Koontz novels today......
1) Shattered. It's from 1973, and was 1.49.
2) Lightning 3) Midnight 4) The Bad Place
The others are later Koontz, and not so interesting. However, they are together in one big hardback book, and they cost 1.29. So I thought, why not?

Lightning and Midnight are both very good novels of his. Both dealing with different themes again, this is before he went soppy so I know you will enjoy them.
DLS - For you sire, grab Strangers. bit of a doorstep but a very good read.

I've only ever read 'The Bad Place' by Koontz. I enjoyed it, but wasn't entirely bowled over by the novel. I might have to dip my toe a little further soon. Recommendations for a second novel of his to read anyone? Watchers is good. Dark Rivers of the Heart is worth a look. Avoid Dragon Tears at all costs - there's a section where he writes the story from the dog's POV...

And what is wrong with that? Mr. Herbert wrote a full book using doggy-vision. Avoid Dragon Tears at all costs - It's shit.

The Carry On books are extraordinary. I see there were at least six of them done - but I found only four. The covers read: The wickedly funny story that starts where the movie ends. Each one starts with a brief synopsis of the movie, and then takes off on its own. These aren't old, they came out in 96, but I couldn't leave them behind.
These lot cost me 15 quid. A bargain I say.
