All you folks slagging of Hutson are HEATHEN'S. But seriously though I respect he is of a certain taste. I for one lap his stuff up. His tales are crap at times and the characters so bland and stereotype but this is his style and the reason some people just but their brains aside and wallow in this muck. Who wants twenty five pages of a persons dull background like a King novel ( who I lso like BTW) when you can sum up a person in a sentence "He's a twat with a scar" I notice theres a lot of love for GNS ( from me too) his plots and stories are also forehead slappingly deranged but no one jumps on that guy. Oh and Relics gets my vote.
God help Hutson if any of you lynch mob read Chainsaw terror. ;D

The Hatred for Shaun Hutson here makes me sad. I do enjoy his books. Of course there are clunkers amongst them but what do you want ? Those sappy Twilight novels ? This is a site for pulpy brit horror novels and didn't Hutson give us just those ? And for the record I own all Kings ( in Hardback) and virtually all Koontz's and those guys are the leaders today in horror/thriller fiction and I too love their works. So where does that leave me ? The chap above said Hutson is for people of the lowest common denominator and for people who don't usually read. Strange quote considering I'm currently on three books at the moment. And Ive just bought 29 on ebay. But guess thats just me being the deluded Hutson fan.

I read Breeding Ground a week or so back. I'm sure I've already read the damn thing but it turned out that his Slug's sequel must have fallen below my radar. Oddly enough, i did enjoy the story. Plenty of guts and gore...and slime.
