Well, you've heard differently now. Great cover, yes. Great story, yes. Great production? Get real. What happened? Did anyone check the proofs before the book went to print? The man's got a point! Was there any proof reading?

I think if the book cost is not high at 10.99. If the print run is low, and the story is good the cost is fair. I also see it as an investment. I read my books and keep them. Maybe a year goes by and I will read it again. I have a library and need more book shelves. I have never given a book away, from when I was a child. When I talk about a book being an investment the lower the print run the price of the book goes up. As long a the condition is in fine condition you can ask a lot for a 10 or 20 year old book with a low print, first edition. But I would never sell my books.

I think the vast majority of people on this board keep, collect & re-visit their horror books (apart from Willie who prefers to leave them floating in water until they're nothing more than mush). I believe this is because horror fans are often passionate about their choice in fiction and as such treasure their novels. Also, you've got to have a lot more than a passing interest in horror novels to join a forum that is based around discussion on horror books.
Why is it that horror fans are often a lot more dedicated to the genre than fans of other genres (apart from sci-fi enthusiasts that is)? Peoples thoughts on this would be interesting...

possibly because more of them are nerds? I mean that in the best possible way, of course. think about it, nerds are more likely to care about collecting stuff and hence more likely to take care of their collections, and to care deeply about the subject matter. They're also drawn to more outlandish, less conformist genres like horror and sci-fi.
i'd also like to point out that i cheerfully count myself as a nerd, before anyone throws shoes at me. ;D

(Sorry) back on the subject of Nightspawn.
Has the publisher said anything on the subject of the typos yet?

(Sorry) back on the subject of Nightspawn. Has the publisher said anything on the subject of the typos yet? Aswang have realised that there is a problem with the typos included within Nightspawn and have since addressed the problem for any future releases. Being their first release, Nightspawn raised a few issues which I have been informed the publishers have since taken on board. So basically....watch this space (so to speak).
