How long did it take you to apply that tattoo to your arm?

28 hours in the chair in total (over three sessions). The wrist was quite nasty....the elbow felt like it was on fire....and the armpit was just pain pain pain. Apart from suspensions, I'd have to say that the tattoo in the armpit was one of my most painful episodes so far. Still...it's all worth it. You like? P.S. All those photos are a few years old. They were taken just after the tattoo had been finished. My dreads are also looking quite a bit shorter than they were near the end of their life...

Cool. My most painful tat was on my chest when he went into the collarbone. There's not much skin there, so the needle felt like it was hitting the bone. Painful.

Nice one Shaun....you'll have to post up a pic sometime. Send all those ladies on here wild!!!!
I'm really tempted by a full chest piece as well, but I fear Jennifer would kill me if I did. Might broach the subject again soon...

Ooh you have a full chest piece Shaun? Can we see, please? KCLol. It's just a picture on one pec. Nothing to rave about I'm afraid.

28 hours, OMG! Thats must have been excruciating! But that is one gorgeous tattoo (and a lovely body, may I add if its not a comment too far)! I can't see from these pictures, but what's the void text near the joint of your inner arm, DLS?
Is there a story behind your decision for such a large and bold design? Thank you. The text simply says 'zombie' in knackered typewriter style text: No story behind the design really. I designed it so large and bold because I love the simplicity and beauty behind heavy black work. I'm also a modern primitive (see photos of my dumbass antics with hooks etc somewhere in the blog section) so this style of work kind of goes with the territory. P.S. My arm tattoo actually made the ModBlog news when I first had it done back in 2007. Here's a link: news.bmezine.com/2007/09/25/heavy-blackwork-arm/Also, if you're on MySpace then you can see a lot of my fun & games in my various galleries. Unashamed self promotion over...

Sometimes things just have to be shared... Navel pierced with blades straight to 3.2mm....the after effects! (Ian, feel free to remove this photo if you decide it's unsuitable for the forum).

Lol. It's just a picture on one pec. Nothing to rave about I'm afraid. What's it of? Hehe, I always think tattoos are worth raving about! LOL I just adore them. Thank you. That tat is so cool, a simple but effectively striking design just like you wanted. Hehe, there's no worries concerning unashamed self promotion - it has to be done hun! lol
I think I'll have to draw the line at hooks and stuff... For a budding amateur horror writer, I'm such a squeamish sod sometimes. LOL *avoids the navel piercing post like the plague* Ewww!

My God! Nine whole months since the last post. So Dreaddy, what have you been up to? Gooday to you Mr Woodhead. Busy busy busy at the moment. Just finished reading and now reviewing 'Swan Song' (started it on our honeymoon and just finished it last night). Next to read and review are (in this order I'm afraid):Eutopia - David Nickle (for Chizine Publications) Pretty Little Dead Things - Gary McMahon (for AmazonVine) Outpost - Adam Baker (for AmazonVine) The Spectrum Collection - Various (for Dark Continents / Ade) Shades Of Green - Ian Woodhead (for Ian) The Caretakers - Adrian Chamberlin (for Ade) Pray - John Prescott (for John P / Ade) So, frigging loads to get through at the moment. Sorry for the delay on reviews for those waiting for them. It's just been mad recently with the wedding, honeymoon, work and the usual baby stuff. Not much else going on. Well, apart from trying to get my car sorted after a prang on Boxing Day (skidded on ice and went into the back of someone)....ooops! How about you my fine fella? Been busy writing?

Hi Dready. Are you alright? I hope you didn't prang yourself in the crash. then again, knowing you, your head could have been sliced off and you'd just shrug and glue it back on. As for me, yep, I've literally not stopped writing. I'm working on another collection of shorts at the moment, I set myself the impossible target of trying to write, edit and publish an anthology in under three weeks... I've three days left to achieve this. (Not going to happen)

Hey dude,
Sorry to hear about your car mishap. Hope it's all sorted now.
How're you getting on with Kindle? Are you finding it as good as - or better than print books?
Can't believe you've only recently discovered Swan Song - hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It knocks seven shades of shit out of King's The Stand.
