Just finished and submitted a tale for Spinetinglers entitled The Spirit of Summer and I'm putting the finishing touches to an article for Guynecology. See Rakie, I said I'd get there eventually!
That's all I'll be able to do for now, my bloody bosses have summoned me to Llandudno head office for a driving course on Tuesday, so I won't be able to get anything else done until Wednesday.

Well, the Safe and Defensive Driving course was fun - throwing a van all around Anglesey and Snowdonia. Fantastic scenery and some challenging roads. And it's true what they say - Capel Curig is the wettest part of Wales!
Got back yesterday at nine pm, knackered. Work today, and I moved through it like a zombie.
Finally polished off the Guynecology article and emailed it to Rakie. Hope it's ok, m'dear!
And I've heard that I won the short story thread. That's great news. Just gotta think up a theme for the next tale...

Aargh! More pressure.
I'm off to a committee meeting at my archery club tonight. Foolishly, I offered to compile the newsletter for the club, forgetting how little spare time I have already.
The Caretakers - up to 50,000 words and almost at the half way mark.
One person off work with confirmed Swine Flu. Captain Tripps has me in his sights, I can feel it...

Another dreadful performance on the field of archery. A short metric round, my personal best is 503 (last year).
Today, 260something. I really don't know what the hell is happening anymore. Tempted to pack it in all together.
However, a clout shoot on Sunday - competition, no less - a different discipline and one I enjoy so I won't snap my arrows in half just yet.
Positive note: on the way back I popped into a BP garage that has some wierd policy about selling booze to over 25s only. I WAS ASKED FOR I.D. AND I'M 38 IN OCTOBER!
Happy ain't the word. Then she asked "Any petrol?"
"Sorry," I smiled. "I'm too young to drive..."

Yesterday I scored 333 on the short metric. A far cry from my PB, but proof that I'm getting over my target panic. Encouraging.
What's not encouraging is the unbelievable luck Sharon Ring has with her tiles on Facebook Scrabble. CURTSIED - 76 points that got her, and has f*cked me up big time. Humph.
Chapter 14 of The Caretakers finished. Looking good, 60,000 words and (fingers crossed) on target for the spinetinglers elite competition in October.
Now hammering out a tale for the short story thread.
Gotta stop work on it now, because I have a Clout Shoot in Southampton tomorrow. Bed beckons.

The Clout in Southampton was a great day out. My first ever Clout competition, so no great scores expected - or achieved!
Still, hit a clout (the gold, 5 points) in my first end for the first time ever.
Just a really nice day out with some great people. The A34 and the M3 behaved themselves so I got back early enough to bash out some more work on my entry for the short story thread.

Ouch. My neck hurts. Not sure if I twisted it at the Clout in Soton on Sunday or if I slept funny at work.
(Yes, we're that busy).
Chapter 15 of The Caretakers and heading for the lovely 'exposition' sequence.
Edit, edit, edit...
Christ, my neck hurts.

The Walking Dude had Tripps. My sympathies, sir.
I've managed to avoid it so far. ..(fingers crossed). And the neck seems better as well.
Developments on the archery field - I've started using a clicker to overcome my target panic. A small piece of metal that sits on the end of your arrow, so that when you come back at full draw it flicks onto a small plate on the riser with a 'click' sound. (Click click CLICKETY click).
Really helps, because you're forcing yourself to remain on target, and you don't release the arrow until you hear the click.
New arrows on order, should be here by the end of the week.
Hope to have a quiet day at work. Got the next instalment of Shades of Green to read.

And I hope you enjoy reading the next instalment of Shades of Green as much as I enjoyed writing it.
